What is Adventure?
Let’s face it, not everyone thrives on the butterflies and thrills of racing. To some, it can feel overwhelming. Lots of mountain bikers spend a lifetime enjoying the excitement, camaraderie, and health benefits of mountain biking while never participating in a race. For those of you who do love to race, this is your chance to take a mid-season breather, try something new, and come back even stronger.
Missouri’s adventure weekend will be a chance to step outside our comfort zone as a league. You will have the opportunity to challenge yourself on a potentially new to you trail and you may encounter challenges not found in a typical NICA race course. With your coaches, you will also have the chance to complete a longer route, exploring even more trails if you and your ride group desires it. You get to ride at your own pace and choose your own adventure!
After the ride, enjoy the festival atmosphere and meet up with old and new friends from other teams who you may not see very often. Participate in community building activities like scavenger hunts, lawn games, gear swaps, and meet community leaders. Food trucks will be available or bring your own picnic to enjoy. Maybe even sleep at home if you’re lucky…
