Scholarship Opportunities!
Do you know a student or coach who needs help with registration costs or a new bike? Check out the MICL scholarship page presented by the Casey Saunders Foundation:
TREK Pathfinders Scholarship applications are open for 2023!
Submit your application between 2/15 and 3/15
Trek has partnered with the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) to grow diversity in the sport of cycling and provide better access for people of color (POC). The Trek NICA Pathfinders Scholarship will again provide selected student-athletes with a Trek Marlin mountain bike, helmet, shoes, accessories, and a kit, as well as a stipend for NICA league and entry fees for the season.
High School Teams: If SIX or more student athletes who attend the same High School choose to register for the MICL, they must be registered as a separate team in the Pit Zone. Teams may share head coaches, team directors, and practices but must have a distinct jersey to wear at race events. If a high school team exists, students who attend that school must register for that team regardless of their original composite team.
Composite Teams: In the St. Louis metropolitan area, composite team boundaries will be enforced for the 2023 season. Student athletes and families who live outside the new boundaries and who participated in the MICL prior to 2023 may remain with their previous composite team unless they become eligible for a high school based team. New athletes must join the composite team indicated by the zip code of residence entered into Pit Zone.
These guidelines are in place to ensure fair competition standards and promote sustainable team growth.
The final list of racing categories will be determined in August by the registration demographics.
* Grade level changes are strongly discouraged but ability categories changes (A/B/C) may be requested by a Coach through the Coach petition at any time at least 3 days before the race in question.
