We are just one short week away from the start of the 2025 season! 🥳
If you’re new here, welcome to the MICL. We can’t wait to see you on the trails!
Team practices will kick-off on July 1st and now is the time to get your bike and body ready to go. Read on for a list of everything you will need to make sure that you have an enjoyable experience with your team.
If you’re still on the fence about joining us this year, contact your local team. Your coaches may recommend trying out a team practice in order to meet everyone and learn about the wonderful sport of mountain biking.
We strive to be more than just another youth sports program, our goal is to foster a lifelong love of the cycling community and to build strong, resilient and compassionate humans on two wheels.

✨August 1st, 2025 Registration deadline to get a customized race number 🤩

ARE YOU PRACTICE READY?All student athletes and coaches must be fully registered for the MICL 2025 season to participate in team practices. Student athletes may use the one-event waiver to try-out ONE team practice. Not registered yet? You will need an email invitation from your coach to register. ‼️ |

BIKE & RELATED GEAR
- 🚵 Bike: NICA-appropriate/functioning bike, checked by a mechanic. Check the MICL handbook for guidelines.
- 🛞 Flat kit:
- Inner tube that fits the wheel and tire combination on your bike
- Mini-pump or other way to inflate your tires
- Tire lever(s) to help you remove your tire
- 🔧 Multi tool with chain breaker (or other individual tools)
- 💦 Hydration pack or a water bottle you can carry on your bike
PERSONAL GEAR & CLOTHING
- 🪖 Helmet: Undamaged and properly-fitted
- 👕 Clothing appropriate for the ride (close-toed/non-Croc shoes, socks, jersey/shirt, shorts/pants)
- 🕶️ Gloves and sunglasses: strongly recommended for ride safety
- 💦 Water: bring more than you think you will need!
- 🌞 Sunscreen/bug repellent: it’s tick season in MO…
- 🍉 Food/snacks: carbohydrates are bike rocket fuel
- 💉 Medications (to be self administered) – i.e. Epi-pen, inhaler, etc.
